A live, in-person interview of Michele Martin by Joanna Rotté, featuring Michele’s extraordinary experiences as a Buddhist American woman living, traveling, and working in India and Nepal; meeting and studying with revered lamas and meditation masters; and, through learning the Tibetan language, serving as a master translator of both oral and written Tibetan.
Michele Martin has been a meditation practitioner for over 40 years. With two graduate degrees in literature from Yale University, she had an extensive career as an editor in publishing and is a founding board member of the Tibetan Buddhist Research Center. For the past 30+ years, largely based in Nepal and India, she’s been studying with Tibetan lamas and working as a translator of Tibetan language. She is responsible for numerous translations of Tibetan texts on philosophy, meditation, and history. Here at home, she lives near the town of Woodstock in the Catskill Mountains.
