From the EMERGENCY ROOM to the MEDITATION CUSHION features Joanna Rotte interviewing Matt DiRodio concerning the intersections between his extensive practice of mediation and career as an Emergency Department Physician Assistant. Their conversation will include Matt’s reflections on his recent retreat experience of prolonged sitting in silence while abstaining from the Italian cuisine he loves to cook.

Matt DiRodio is co-founder of The Wisdom Seat based in Philadelphia. He served as a Physician Assistant in both surgery and emergency medicine for 30 years, having initially trained as a Med Tech in the US Air Force. Life-long, he’s sustained a meditation practice with advanced studies in Zen and Tibetan Buddhism. Most recently, Matt entered upon a 3-year meditation retreat (currently on break until August) at Sopa Choling in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia.
