Lama Lodro, president of KTD Buddhist Monastery in Woodstock, NY, in conversation with Joanna Rotté, will share stories of her life as a meditation practitioner, including extensive experience in silent retreat, and what it’s like to be president, particularly as a woman, of the Buddhist monastery that serves as the North American seat of the Karma Kagyu lineage of Tibetan Buddhism.
Guest Bio: Lama Lodro Lhamo is the first woman to serve as President of Karma Triyana Dharmachakra Monastery (KTD) in Woodstock, NY. Previously, she completed three three-year retreats at Karme Ling Retreat Center in Delhi, NY., where today she is the women’s retreat master. Lama Lodro was born in Taiwan, emigrated to the United States in childhood, and holds a master’s degree in Buddhist Studies from Columbia University. In 2008 she received full ordination as a Buddhist nun in the Tibetan tradition.
