Dharma Morning - The Shape of Awake
With Hope Martin
February 15, 2025
The Shape of Awake: Discovering balanced, effortless posture and spacious awareness in meditation and daily life.
“To take this posture itself is the purpose of our practice. When you have this posture,
you have the right state of mind, so there is no need to try to attain some special state.”
–Suzuki Roshi
Discover how being fully present and at ease in your body transforms your practice. Being upright is not just an arbitrary shape; it’s a perfect expression of meditation itself. The Alexander Technique helps us to discover balanced, effortless posture and to release unnecessary tension.
In this workshop, you will learn ways to work with your body and mind to help you access the innate ease and presence that is your birthright. We will integrate experiential exercises, instruction in basic body mechanics, hands-on support, and guided meditations in embodied awareness.
